You might also consider doing internships so that you can get a feel for the kinds of jobs you’d get with different majors. Internships are great even if you have to work for free. You can explore your career options without making any long-term commitments. You don’t want to find out after you’ve completed a program that you hate the career path you’ve chosen.
Here’s my beef. This weight reduction cannot possibly be simply the result of cutting out salt. Chef Bacigalupo has 3 major reasons to change a lot more than that and they are called 3 heart attacks. That would be sobering for anyone. I am willing to bet that he has also done a lot to cut sugar and trans fats from his diet, which are the other major culprits that work toward bad nutrition and health. I think that this project is great and applaud that it is drawing awareness to better cooking alternatives. I would just hope that this attention focuses on a lot more than salt.
Suggest a visit to the campus career center. University career center are valuable yet often untapped resource centers that exist for the purpose of helping your kid find a job. Many schools have websites and phone lines also available to help if your child doesn’t live nearby their alma mater.

Produce. Go into the fields and pick your own fruits and vegetables at farms and orchards. Mom and dad did this and we loved it. The alternative is farmers markets. You will get better, fresher produce that will last longer at home. You will spend time with the kids having fun and save a bundle of money. It’s even more fun to get the kids to help with canning the produce.
